The event will be held on May 20, at the São Paulo Stock Exchange (B3). According to the official statement from the Ministry of Infrastructure, private investments of around R$ 8.8 billion are expected in improvements and capacity expansion, in addition to another R$ 8.5 billion for maintenance of operations, during the duration of the 30 contract years.
In addition, the communiqué informs that the doubling of 303.22 kilometers, the construction of 255.23 kilometers of additional lanes and other improvements are planned, such as the use of the ‘free flow’ system for electronic fare payment without physical collection plazas. The rules of the public notice will be published in the Official Gazette (DOU).
Also part of the project are the implementation of escape areas and rest stops (PPDs) for truck drivers, in addition to hundreds of structural works aimed at user road safety.
The ministry informed that the bidding will be carried out in the form of competition (auction) with international participation, in the hybrid model of competition, and the bidder must present the value of the basic toll tariff and the grant value.
Rio-Valadares System
With a length of 726.9 kilometers, the connection between the cities of Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and Governador Valadares (MG) is strategic due to the volume of traffic, along with two other highways, BR-040/MG/RJ and BR- 116/RJ/SP, to Dutra. In addition, it is the only route available, starting from the state capital, to bypass the Guanabara Bay, allowing access to the Lagos region, to the north of the state, and to the North and Northeast regions of the country.
