Disney’s most recent release, the Brazilian series “Love of my life” can join the list of productions that expose the issues of young adults in the 21st century – but with a little more lightness and good humor.
The title has 10 episodes and follows Bia (Bruna Marquezine) and Victor (Sérgio Malheiros) over the years. Longtime friends, they have been by each other’s side in many aspects of their lives. The plot focuses on the romantic relationships and professional lives of the protagonists.
Bia had her heart broken and decides that she no longer wants relationships. Victor also suffers a disappointment in love, but, unlike his friend, he starts one relationship with another. In the midst of their love lives, the two experience frustrations in their professional lives.
Marquezine’s character dreams of being an actress, but is unable to land any role – while creating debt and falling behind on her rent. His friend is struggling to continue his father’s legacy with a lamp store.
They have each other as a reference and safe haven. Between romantic disappointments, reality checks and repressed desires, the duo decides to try to live as a couple. Even with the desire to be together and the synergy of years, life takes unexpected turns.
In addition to Marquezine and Malheiros, names like Cissa Guimarães, Danilo Mesquita, Fernanda Paes Leme, João Guilherme, Sophia Abrahão and more make up the cast of “Amor da Minha Vida”.
