An app driver was arrested this Monday morning (9) in Nova Iguaçu (RJ) on suspicion of sexual harassment and attempted rape against a passenger on Ilha do Governador, in the capital of Rio de Janeiro. At the time, the victim even filmed images of what happened.
The case occurred on November 27th, on a trip from Baixada Fluminense to the south zone of Rio de Janeiro. Along the way, she became suspicious of the man’s actions, and was scared when she realized what he was doing.
When he arrived close to the University Hospital, the driver stopped the vehicle and tried to pull the victim away, threatening her with rape.
The act was not completed and the woman managed to free herself from the criminal, open the car door and escape. At the police station, the man denied the crime. The case was registered at the 37th DP (Ilha do Governador) which will investigate.
