Applause to ClioMakeUp and its post dedicated to the rampant mania of filters

We really like to start the day by bumping into a candid post like that of Clio Zammatteo, for everyone, simply Clio. The youtuber, blogger and beauty entrepreneur, born in 1982 and two little girls, wanted to have her say on a very topical issue: that of Instagram filters. Prevailing, so much so that it now seems impossible to hypothesize to publish a selfie (or any other photo) without first having edited it for a long time. The risks of this trend should not be underestimatedthe. Here’s what Clio thinks.

CLIO’S FULL POST ON SOCIAL FILTERS
The beauty mogul, who has been back on a permanent basis in Italy with her family for a few months, wanted to make her message even more effective, publishing two self-portraits, one retouched by filters, the other natural. And he writes: «Initially there doesn’t seem to be much difference, only the skin a little lighter, the nose slightly narrower, the pores less dilated, the complexion brighter, the eyes brighter. In the end it’s always me, there’s not much difference … So why when that apparently harmless filter disappears do I feel uglier, less adequate? And again why are the others better than me? It’s not enough that their life is better than mine, they have it all, love, money, success, fame, clothes, makeup, travel and even beauty. How many things go through the head especially of more fragile people, like the youngest, the teenagers or the insecure, the timid. Thoughts that over time can hurt, so bad. For what? For distorted realities: people who have more than us have always existed and always will exist, but never as today with social networks the comparison becomes so easy and can lead to obsessions or forms of depression. TO Sometimes the lightness with which filters are used to improve the face and even life in general scares me. I hope that out there you can tell fact from fiction. It is said that not all that glitters is gold and I think it is so in many cases ». Thanks Clio: your words are important and we hope they stimulate a healthy debate on the topic of Instagram filters.
