Apple announced this Monday (8) the launch date of the Apple Vision Pro in the United States. The virtual reality glasses hit the market on February 2nd and pre-sales begin on January 19th.
The device will have 256 GB of storage, will hit the market for US$3,499 (around R$17,000) and will be sold in Apple's physical and virtual stores in the United States. There is no confirmed date for the launch of the product in Brazil.
According to the North American technology company, the glasses promise to transform “the way people work, collaborate, connect, relive memories and enjoy entertainment”.
“Apple Vision Pro is the most advanced consumer electronics device ever created. Its revolutionary, magical user interface will redefine the way we connect, create and explore,” said Tim Cook, Apple CEO.
Despite its similar appearance to existing augmented reality and virtual reality glasses, Apple's innovative object has features that mix virtual reality and augmented reality, which makes it possible to see “infinite” screens projected in any environment in which the person is.
The operating system will be visionOS, which is based on iOS. The novelty is that it offers a three-dimensional interface and can be fully controlled by the user's eyes, hands and voice.
“Intuitive gestures let users interact with apps simply by looking at them, tapping with their fingers to select, flicking their wrist to scroll, or using a virtual keyboard or dictation to type,” Apple says in a press release.
With more than 1 million applications available, Vision Pro promises to revolutionize the way users make video calls, play games and watch movies and series, for example.
