Apple grants a patent for iPad with two displays

The US Patent and Trademark Office has issued Apple Patent No. 11079995 for electronic devices that have multiple displays for displaying various content and user interaction with such devices. By way of illustration, the Apple patent shows an iPad with two displays.

In Apple’s view, an electronic device displays information and allows the user to interact with content across multiple displays. In some implementations, an electronic device displays three-dimensional content using coordinated views across multiple displays.

In other embodiments, the electronic device shares content when displaying a video conferencing user interface. In addition, multiple displays can be used to preserve the privacy of a piece of content.

In some embodiments, the electronic device facilitates displaying information from applications using a common graphical input coordinate space. It is possible to use multiple displays for displaying notifications.

Finally, in some embodiments, it is possible to present content items that are associated with content presented on one or more electronic devices. In some embodiments, the electronic device has user interfaces including a virtual keyboard. In other words, patent # 11079995 is very detailed, with dozens of variations and illustrations.
