Apple’s newer Mac devices based on the Apple M1 SoC use the ARM architecture. They not only work for a very long time without recharging, but also allow you to run mobile applications on laptops and computers.
With the release of the latest macOS Big Sur update, Apple has once again prevented users from downloading iPhone and iPad apps on Apple M1-based Macs. The company took a similar step in January by banning manual installation of iOS and iPadOS apps, but the restrictions were lifted after about four days.
As 9to5Mac reports, the fresh version of macOS Big Sur 11.2, which was released last week, will re-activate the server-side ban. Tests also show that the unpublished app download policy applies to the current macOS 11.3 beta.
As previously reported, if you update macOS Big Sur when there is not enough free space, the computer will stop responding, resulting in permanent data loss.
Apple will not comment on this.
