It encrypts outgoing traffic so that no one can intercept or read it. Then your requests are sent through two separate Internet sites. This is to ensure that no one, including Apple, can use your IP address, location and browsing history to create your detailed profile. ”
iCloud Private Relay did not work in Belarus, Kazakhstan, China and some other countries, but initially the feature was available in Russia. However, since yesterday, iOS 15 and macOS 12 began to issue alerts like this: “Private node is not supported in some countries and regions, including Russia.” You can even see the clarification – this was due to the “current restrictions of local legislation.”
Interestingly, on September 16, a few hours before the “Private iCloud node” function was disabled, at a meeting of the temporary commission of the Federation Council, it was announced that not only fines, but also criminal prosecution of employees of Russian structures associated with Apple and Google for interference of Google and Apple in the process of elections to the State Duma.
After that, Apple and Google also removed the Smart Voting application from the App Store and Google Play, which they had previously refused to remove.
