Apple has not yet fully complied with the decision of the Netherlands Office for Consumers and Markets (ACM) requiring it to make changes to its App Store payment policy. As you know, the regulator came to the conclusion that the company violated local competition law and ordered it to allow dating app providers to use alternative payment systems.
When the time allotted for the company to comply with the order expired, the company was fined 5 million euros a week. The ninth fine was imposed this week. Although the company promised in January that it would meet the requirements of the regulator, ACM believes that this has not yet been done.
In January, Apple filed an appeal challenging the ACM decision, and this week the company submitted a new proposal to the regulator, hoping that it will cancel the punishment.
