Apple, here are the new MacBooks with more powerful and less energy-intensive chips

News at home Apple. Apple presented the new MacBooks Pro 14 and 16 inch equipped with chips M2 Pro and M2 Max of new generation that guarantee more powerful performance and a significant cutting the energy used, as well as superior autonomy and a large amount of improvements from all points of view. Not only that: the winter menu also includes new mac mini with the two M2 and M2 Pro chips.

“The Apple-powered MacBook Pro changed that completely, allowing the pro user to push the boundaries of their workflow on the go and do things they never thought possible on a laptop,” he explained. Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, «today MacBook Pro takes another step forward. Faster performance, improved connectivity and the best battery life ever in a Mac, together with the best display ever in a laptop, make it simply unique.

The new MacBook Pros

MacBook Pro, which remains aesthetically the same as the model introduced in late 2021, is capable of transforming professional workflows in a variety of areas, from art to science and application development to photography. The laptop with M2 Pro has a 10-core or 12-core CPU which ensures performance up to 20% higher compared to the M1 Pro chip. The latest generation GPU, i.e. the graphics unit, with up to 19 cores offers up to 30% higher graphics performance, while the Neural Engine (i.e. the microprocessor that takes care of sewing the phone’s functions around to the needs of those who use it, learning from their habits) is 40% faster in activities such as video analysis and image processing. Video encodings are also faster. To understand each other, using Adobe Photoshop is up to 80% faster compared to the highest performing MacBook Pro model with Intel processor and up to 40% faster than the previous generation.

MacBook Pro with M2 Max – like the other equipped with Liquid Retina XDR mini-LED panel – push workflows to the limit with a monster graphics unit up to 38-cores significantly larger in size and up to 30% better graphics performance than the M1 Max chip. It is the ideal laptop for graphics-intensive workflows such as creating scenes with 3D geometry and extreme textures or creating panoramic images of big dimensions. M2 Max features a next-generation 12-core CPU with up to eight high-performance cores that deliver up to 20% faster performance than the M1 Max chip.

As usual, the difference in Apple in addition to the chips that replace the M2 seen first of all on MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 13 – is always the operating system: the various features of macOS Ventura such as the Continuity camera bring video conferencing options to Mac , including Desktop Pan, Auto Framing, and Studio Light. Handoff for FaceTime allows the user to start a FaceTime call from the iPhone or iPad and continue it on the Mac, or vice versa. And tools like Stage Manager automatically organize apps and windows so you can focus on what you’re doing and still have everything under control at a glance.

Designed to minimize theimpact on the environmentthe new MacBook Pro uses 100% recycled materials: aluminum for the case, rare earths recycled in all magnets, tin for logic board solders, and gold in the platings of various printed circuit boards. It also contains at least 35% recycled plastic in various components and meets Apple’s stringent standards for energy efficiency. MacBook Pro is free of many toxic substances and the packaging is made up of 97% fiber. The new MacBook Pro models with the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips are available to order starting January 17 at apple.com/uk/store and in the Apple Store app in 27 countries and territories. Deliveries will start on Tuesday 24 January. The new 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 Pro chip comes at a price starting at 2,499 euros and 2,309 euros for the Education sector; 16-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Max chip comes at a price starting from 3,099 euros and €2,849 for the Education sector.

The new M2 Pro chip brings pro-level performance to Mac mini for the first time, enabling you to handle previously unimaginable high-performance workflows in such a small, compact design. Mac mini delivers as always a wide range of ports for connections of all kinds. The model with the M2 chip has two Thunderbolt 4 ports and supports up to two monitors. Model with M2 Pro chip includes four Thunderbolt 4 ports And supports up to three monitors. In addition, the model with M2 Pro chip can support a 8K monitors, a first for the Mac. Both models have two USB-A ports, one HDMI port, one Gigabit Ethernet port with 10GB option, and an updated headphone jack for high-impedance headphones.
