Apple has officially introduced a new feature for its branded smartphones, rumors about which appeared a couple of weeks ago.

The function is called Tap to Pay and actually allows you to turn your iPhone into a contactless payment terminal. As Apple promises, with the help of Tap to Pay, entrepreneurs will be able to use their iPhones to receive payments securely and contactlessly – just bring the buyer’s smartphone or an NFC-enabled bank card to the seller’s smartphone. Apparently, it will be possible to pay not only using the iPhone, but also through Android smartphones with support for contactless payments.
The most interesting thing is that Apple cooperates with third-party developers – Tap to Pay can be integrated into third-party services and applications. The Stripe service will be the first sign. This feature will require an iPhone XS or newer iPhone to work. At first, the service will work only in the US, the launch will take place towards the end of the year.
