Apple is at the center of a scandal. The company is accused of stealing Face ID, Smart HDR and other iPhone camera technologies

Apple is being sued for alleged infringement of patents covering Face ID and various camera technologies. The lawsuit was filed in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas, which says Apple knowingly infringed five patents related to its smartphone cameras.

These patents relate to technologies that can “help users interact with smartphones,” including unlocking devices, capturing images or videos, and other functions. The plaintiff, Gesture Technology Partners, LLC, was founded by Dr. Timothy Pryor in 2013. Prior is the owner of five patents allegedly infringed by Apple.

In addition to Face ID technology, Smart HDR, face recognition in photos, and optical image stabilization are mentioned. The patent also states that Apple and Dr. Pryor previously collaborated.

The document also states that Dr. Pryor contacted Apple regarding licensing issues. However, Apple did not take any action to address the violation. Because of this, the plaintiff claims that Apple has directly and knowingly infringed these patents.

In the lawsuit, Pryor is asking a jury to find Apple in violation of intellectual property rights. In addition, he also seeks compensation for all expenses, including attorney fees and other legal expenses.
