Apple is re-creating iPhone 4 with current trends. iPhone 14 won’t get USB-C

Chinese sources say that Apple is going to recreate the iPhone 4. It is about the fact that the company intends to pay tribute to the popular smartphone in the next flagship line, which should come out under the name iPhone 14.

It is worth noting that Apple returned to the design of the iPhone 4 last year, when the company released the iPhone 12. As a reminder, the smartphone received a flat metal frame around the entire perimeter of the case, as well as a glass front and rear panels. The same design was retained in the iPhone 13.

Of course, the design of the front and back will be modern. This time, the source claims that the iPhone 14 lineup will have three models, and not four, as previously thought. Older versions, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Max, will receive a screen with a horizontal cutout hole. The inside will house a loudspeaker grill and a front-facing camera. By the way, another source in a previous post confirmed that the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max will use displays with a hole in the top center. It is also reported that smartphones will not receive USB-C connectors.

As for the looks of the standard version of the iPhone 14, it will still have a slight bang. All smartphones in the line will receive the Apple A16 Bionic single-chip system, which will be based on TSMC’s 4nm process technology.

The presentation is expected in September 2022.
