THE Apple announced that from next Monday (6), new tools will be available in the physical health app of the company, Fitness.
Among the new features are a three-week strength training program, exercises focused on preparing to play pickleball, guides for meditation, yoga, dance, greater integration with a running app and the launch of playlists that track users’ progress.
The new content will work on iPhones, iPads and Apple TVs, in addition to the company’s smartwatch, the Apple Watch, which will provide real-time metrics to track the user’s progress.
The workouts focused on bodybuilding target the main muscle groups in 12 30-minute workouts that evolve over the weeks of practice.
According to Apple, the content that aims to prepare users to practice pickleball is justified because it is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. The trails are guided by the professional champion of the sport, Catherine Parenteau.
In addition, a workshop-style yoga program will be available starting Monday that focuses on popular poses such as Dancer, Hand Twisted on Big Toe and Crow, and meditation content teaching techniques to manage stress, increase energy and improve focus.
Fitness+ will also feature classes from choreographer Alex Wong — a member of the North American dance reality show So You Think You Can Dance.
With an integration between physical exercises and music, the company’s application will have workouts with songs by great artists such as Janet Jackson, starting on January 13th; Coldplay, on January 20; Bruno Mars, on January 27; and Kendrick Lamar, on February 3.
The songs are used as a backdrop for cycling, Hiit (High Intensity Interval Training) classes, strength and dance.
Finally, Apple announced greater integration with the Strava running app, which, when connected with Fitness+, will show training details with data on music heard during practice and class episodes viewed on the device.
