Apple has just introduced what, according to the company, promises to be the “most advanced personal electronic device of all time”: the Apple Vision Pro.
The “glasses” were unveiled at the World Developers Conference broadcast of the company that started this Monday (5) on the campus of Cupertino, California (USA).
According to CEO Tim Cook, the device has the potential to “change the way we look at technology and how it affects our lives”. “We had to file more than five thousand patents to develop this product”, informed the executive.
Cook also revealed that the “gadget” will cost US$ 3,499 (about R$ 17,240) and will be sold from the beginning of 2024 on the brand’s website and, for now, only in US stores.
How it works
Despite looking similar to augmented reality and virtual reality glasses that already exist, Apple’s innovative object has features that mix virtual reality and augmented reality, which makes it possible to see “infinite” projected screens in any environment in which the person is.

The interface will be similar to iOS, and the device will have cameras and sensors that will allow users to interact and control the screens with just eye and hand movements, or by activating Siri.
The Apple Vision Pro will be powered by chips that process visual and audio information “eight times faster than the blink of an eye”, to give the impression that the designed experiences are happening in “real time”.
According to the examples presented at the Conference, it will be possible to completely immerse yourself in movies, make “extremely realistic” video calls and meetings, among other features.
Tim Cook also revealed that partnerships with developers are already underway to provide “never-before-seen” user experiences.
For now, the applications presented show the possibility of having your own planetarium, of building and reviewing engineering projects and even of analyzing and examining human organs.
Other releases
Apple also took the opportunity to launch the new MacBook and the “most powerful Macs”: MacStudio and MacPro.
iOS system updates for all devices have also been released
