The RAM and SDD have been allowed to be updated, but with additional costs. The Mac Mini itself can neither be upgraded on the Apple Store nor by the user. It has been mentioned that the Mac Mini that contains 16GB RAM and 2 terabyte SSD costs $1,699.

The old version of Mac Mini that was launch in 2018 provided 4 USB-C cable ports while the new one provides two Thunderbolt USB-C ports also including Ethernet, HDMI, and two USB 3.1 ports. Along with the 4 performance Firestorm cores, M1 has added another 4 ice-storm cores to provide low idle power.
M1’s beta version of Photoshop has already been developed and has been shipped along with the model of Microsoft’s ARM chip, a complete version that will be launched next year. According to Adobe, the M1 native Lightroom was also expected to be released by end of last year.
The fact that Apple has built its ecosystem in M1 has made a lot of success. Many applications have been upgraded to run as Universal apps. It has been informed that all Apple applications have been guided to be M1 ready, as well as the other part of the market. Intel designed applications can still be used on the Mac Mini but the performance is said to be slower compared to the native code. Although, the latest model of Apple’s Rosetta emulator can be available to fill in the blank spaces anytime. However, it has been noted that Rosetta does not have the capability of operating everything. Intel era system has faced off challenges to work with the new Mac Mini with apps such as games that have been updated for a new hardware.
The only negative view of the new Mac Mini has been said to be the two USB ports while the users were expecting at least 4 like the 2018 version. However, there have been no other complaints raised since applications run faster, has a good stability, the cost for more entry level configuration is tame, and it also has Wi-Fi 6.
