The PC market, boosted by the shift to remote work, study and entertainment due to the pandemic, continued its explosive growth in the second quarter of 2021. According to the estimates of experts of the analytical company Canalys, shipments in annual terms increased by 13% and reached 82.3 million units. Analysts clarify that they counted desktops, laptops, including Chromebooks, and workstations, but did not count tablets.
Notebook and mobile workstation shipments rose 15% year over year to 66.7 million units, while desktop shipments rose 6% to 15.6 million units.
