Apple has released a dedicated support document explaining how to fix the battery issue for the iPhone 11 line.

It is noted that the iOS 14.5 platform, which is scheduled for release in the spring of 2021, has included a special update to recalculate the battery health assessment system for the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
The update will recalculate maximum battery capacity and peak performance through the update, Apple said, to address an issue of inaccurate battery health ratings experienced by “some users.” Symptoms of this error include unexpected battery drain and reduced peak performance. Apple stressed that inaccurate battery health estimates do not reflect actual battery health.

Users will see a message under Settings> Battery> Battery Status. The recalculation of maximum capacity and peak performance is done during regular charging cycles and can take several weeks. During recalculation, the displayed percentage of the maximum capacity remains the same. Peak performance can be updated, but most users do not notice.

If the recalculation fails, which sometimes happens, a message will appear on the smartphone about the need for a new battery. In this case, the user can replace the battery free of charge at an Apple Authorized Service Center.
