Apple yesterday released iOS 14.5 update, bringing with it changes in unlocking devices, new privacy settings, support for the AirTag accessory, and so on.

One of the most important innovations is that smartphones iPhone X and newer can be unlocked using Apple Watch smartwatches, even when wearing a face shield. This requires a watch no older than Apple Watch Series 3.

The iOS 14.5 update introduces support for the recently released Apple AirTag trackers so you can track them in the Find My app. The iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 have a precision search feature that takes advantage of the U1 chip to provide visual, audible, and tactile feedback to help you find your lost item.

The update also improves the Maps app by allowing you to share estimated arrival times when cycling or walking, not just by car. Improved some Siri voice assistant features, updated the Podcasts app, and added support for Xbox Series X | S and Sony PlayStation 5 DualSense wireless game controllers.
