This Tuesday (12), Apple is expected to release, from 2pm (Brasília time), the brand’s news. The most anticipated is the launch of the iPhone 15, which promises to introduce the biggest change in smartphone design in 11 years.
The press event, which has the slogan “wish for wonders”, will take place at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California, and will be broadcast live on the company’s website.
Unlike presentations from previous years, which became stereotypical because they only announced changes to battery life, camera systems and screens, for example, a bigger new feature is expected in 2023.
Experts said the device will ditch Apple’s Lightning charger and adopt USB-C charging, which would be a milestone for the company in adopting the universal standard.
This change could speed up the process of charging the battery on several devices.
Apple’s senior vice president of marketing, Greg Joswiak, has already announced the event on his social networks.

News
Apple has already switched its iPads and MacBooks to USB-C charging, but now may be the time for the company to finally bring the change to iPhones.
If confirmed, the change will come less than a year after the European Union (EU) passed a law requiring smartphones, tablets, digital cameras, portable speakers and other small devices to support USB-C charging by 2024.
The unprecedented law aims to reduce the number of different chargers and cables that consumers have to use when purchasing a device, in addition to allowing users to combine devices and chargers, even if they are produced by different manufacturers.
iPhone 15 Features
Rumor has it that the entire iPhone 15 line will have the “Dynamic Island” feature — an interactive home for alerts, notifications and various controls — that replaces the slider bar at the top of the screen. The tool was launched on the higher-end iPhone 14 Pro models last year.
While there are few other rumors circulating about the base iPhone models, the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models are expected to receive some new features, according to Bloomberg.
This could include a rear-facing periscopic lens, which would allow for a greater zoom range, as well as a titanium case that would make the device up to 15% lighter and thinner.
The Pro models are also expected to receive Apple’s latest A17 chip — the first with three-nanometer technology, which can offer faster processing and longer battery life.
The lineup is also expected to come in several new colors, as suggested by the Apple logo on the event invitation, including navy blue and different shades of gray, white and silver.
In May this year, for example, Apple showcased a series of new tools for iOS 17, such as more accurate automatic correction, as well as a feature called “Live Voicemail”, which will transcribe calls in real time.
Also announced was the “NameDrop” tool, which allows users to share their contact information by bringing two iPhones together.
The iPhone calling app will also have the hang up button repositioned in the bottom right corner of the screen, closer to other functions.
Without expectations
With the new iPhone expected to take center stage, many analysts don’t predict Apple will launch new iPads or Mac computers until October.
And, despite rivals Samsung and Google betting on “foldable” devices, Apple is not expected to launch a similar version for now.
Other releases
The company typically releases its latest Apple Watch watches alongside the iPhone.
With this, we are likely to see the announcement of the Apple Watch Series 9, in addition to the new generation Ultra 2 smartwatch, more robust for athletes.
According to Bloomberg, Apple is working on a complete redesign for next year’s Apple Watch Series 10, so this year’s changes should be relatively minor.
Additionally, Apple is expected to introduce its new AirPods with a new charging case, which will work with USB-C cables.
The company is also likely to announce release dates for its updated operating systems for iPhone, iPads, Macs and Apple Watch.
