Apple sues renowned 3D designer over realistic renders

Apple enlisted local law firms around the world to persuade content creators and social media favorites to stop disclosing Apple trade secrets.

In particular, it became known that she turned to lawyers in the Netherlands, suing the designer Jermaine Smit, known under the nickname Concept Creator. In recent years, this person has created a huge number of realistic renders of new products from Apple and other companies. Just this week, he posted renders and a video of the iPhone 13 Pro.

LetsGoDigital, which has partnered with Concept Creator, contacted Amsterdam-based law firm Hofhuis Alkema Groen Advocaten for further clarification. The 5-page letter refers to “stolen information.” In particular, the published renders of the Airpods Max are mentioned. Such content damages the company and “makes it impossible for Apple to surprise customers with new product announcements.” Apple is demanding that Jermaine immediately cease his “harmful activities.” “If this request is not met, Apple is ready to take any legal action necessary to protect its interests,” – said in the letter.

Jermaine Smith clarified that the renders of the AirPods Max and other devices were created by him based on information that is freely available on the Internet. In the case of AirPods Max, photos of new products have already appeared on the Web, on the basis of which he created high-quality models.

Apple is very strict in running its business and goes to great lengths to maintain the design of its new products. However, not a single Apple product appeared on the market, information about which had not previously leaked to the Network. The company works with numerous suppliers, so the risk of leaks is always very high.

I am unpleasantly surprised by the letter from Apple, because I do not consider myself a distributor of information at all. I just want to create 3D concepts and develop with it. Now I have to think about how to deal with this future.
