Apple to pay $ 95 million for bad repairs and refurbished devices

Apple recently reached an agreement to settle a class action lawsuit over inappropriate repairs to its products. The lawsuit alleges that the Cupertinians are breaking the law by providing customers with refurbished or remanufactured devices. Under the terms of the refurbishment, Apple must use new or refurbished components that are equivalent to new products in terms of performance and reliability. However, the prosecution claims that the repaired devices do not correspond to this, so the company is obliged to compensate for the damage.

Customers who signed the class action lawsuit used AppleCare or AppleCare + and received their devices that were improperly repaired or replaced. To resolve the dispute, Apple is ready to pay $ 95 million, which will be evenly distributed among the affected users. According to court documents, the company firmly denies the allegation, but given the time and cost to proceed with the trial, it decided to come to an agreement.
