Time magazine has published a ranking of the most influential companies. The list includes tech giants such as Apple and Twitter, as well as representatives from other industries, including the Canadian medicinal marijuana maker Tilray and Beyond Meat, a plant-based artificial meat company.
In compiling the list of the most influential companies in the world, Time magazine relied on the opinion of its team of correspondents and editors who compiled a list of nominees for inclusion in the ranking. The companies were divided into different categories depending on their field of activity: medicine, entertainment, high technology, transportation, and others. Each company claiming to be in the top 100 was awarded points on several criteria, including relevance, market impact, innovation, ambition, and success rate. As a result, the firms listed in Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential Companies were divided into five categories, each of which included from 16 to 22 companies.
Leader in the Pioneers category was Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine company, which produces TV series, including the hit Big Little Lies. In addition to Hello Sunshine, this category includes Korean record company HYBE, plant-based meat maker Beyond Meat, athlete tracking service Strava and dating service Bumble.
The Leaders category is headed by the NBA, the national basketball organization. It is followed by Twitter, Apple, as well as Pfizer-BioNTech and Johnson & Johnson for the development of vaccines against the COVID-19 coronavirus. The leaders were also Nike, Sony and Mastercard.
The list of “Innovators” is headed by the analytical company with artificial intelligence Gro Intelligence. Also in this category were well-known companies like Zoom, DJI, Adidas, Spotify, TikTok, Lego, Nvidia, Netflix, Epic Games and IKEA. Among the innovators were the Chinese car manufacturer BYD and the real estate company Zillow, which specializes in selling real estate online.
