Apple will trim iPhone functionality. Siri’s voice capabilities will be significantly reduced with the release of iOS 15

This is reported in a new developer support document for SiriKit. With the public release of Apple’s next generation of software platforms in the fall of 2021, developers will see a significant reduction in the types and number of Siri commands that can be used by third-party applications.

Apple lists a total of 22 SiriKit commands that will no longer be supported. The most notable example of these is the ability to order a taxi, for example, at Uber. It will also reduce the ability to interact with planners and to-do lists such as Things 3 or Todoist. Users will no longer be able to use Siri to create new lists and delete tasks. Also, you will no longer be able to edit notes.

Siri’s other “forbidden” requests include paying bills using third-party apps, transferring money between two accounts in a particular app, identifying the sound source in the car, adjusting the car seats and heater settings.

Apple has yet to explain the reasons for this controversial move. It can only be assumed that this is done to improve safety.
