The biggest receiver of iPhones in the Jacarepaguá region, known as “Apple Wizard”, was arrested in Rio de Janeiro, on the morning of this Wednesday (18).
Bruno de Jesus Ramos is nicknamed after his ability to unlock stolen Apple cell phones. He was arrested in Cidade de Deus, in the western part of the state capital.
After investigation, officers from the 41st DP (Tanque) located the address where the suspect was in possession of several iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches and computers.
There, the “Apple Wizard” unlocked the electronic devices. They were found wrapped in aluminum foil, which makes it difficult to locate the cell phones.
The prisoner, who was also carrying a firearm, had already been investigated and indicted for robbery, theft and receiving stolen goods.
According to the police, in addition to stealing the phones, Bruno hacked into the victims’ bank accounts and diverted the money to international accounts.
The combined value of the cell phones and other devices seized is approximately R$300,000.00. See a picture of the electronics below.
