Apple’s A15 SoC for the new iPhone demonstrates its performance for the first time

The first test results of the new single-chip Apple A15 system, which will be used in the new iPhone smartphone, appeared on the web in the popular Geekbench test application.

The maximum score of the Apple A15 in single-threaded mode was 1724 points, and when using all cores, the platform scored 4320 points. For comparison: the maximum scores of the Apple A14 SoC in Geekbench are 1606 and 4305 points, respectively. That is, the single-core performance of the Apple A15 has increased by 7%, while in multi-threaded mode, the new product does not yet reach the Apple A14.

Since this is the first prototype, you can expect the results of the Apple A15 to improve markedly by the time of release. The source adds that, in addition to poor results, at the moment the prototype based on Apple A15 is experiencing problems with throttling, which should be eliminated at the time of release.

Apple A15 is manufactured on the basis of 5nm technological process by TSMC, it should use 15% less power and be more efficient than Apple A14.
