Details about the new single-chip Apple M1X system appeared on the web, which should be equipped with a 12-core processor and significantly outperform the previous Apple M1 SoC.

Apple M1 is equipped with an 8-core CPU and an 8-core graphics accelerator. The Apple M1X GPU is expected to receive 16 cores. The single-chip system will be based on a 5-nanometer process technology and operate at a frequency of 3.2 GHz.

Apple’s new platform is expected to be used in the upcoming 14-inch MacBook Pro, 16-inch MacBook Pro and 27-inch iMac. Sources add that Apple is also working on other SoCs with 16- and 32-core GPUs.
