Apple’s new 5K display gets a processor from the iPhone 11

In addition to the updated tablets and Mac Studio, as part of the presentation, Apple introduced its new monitor, which will take a more budgetary niche than the previous Apple XDR Display.

In terms of specs, the 27-inch monitor boasts 5K resolution and 600 nits of brightness. However, this is not what distinguishes it from its competitors. The fact is that Apple Studio Display is equipped with an advanced 12-megapixel front camera with Center Stage support and powerful speakers, which makes it more than just a display.

In addition, the device received 4 USB Type-C connectors and the ability to charge a laptop during use. Also, Apple did not forget about True Tone, P3 profile and proprietary anti-reflective nano-texture. What is most interesting, a full-fledged Apple A13 Bionic processor was built into the monitor – the same chipset was used in the iPhone 11 just a few years ago. Probably, it is necessary here to implement the performance of the Center Stage and other proprietary features.

The monitor will go on sale at a price of $ 1,599 for a version without anti-reflective coating and with a regular leg that cannot be placed in an upright position. For a more advanced stand that has this option, you will have to pay extra separately.
