Approved by Congress the “Nice and Big” bill that extends tax exemptions

The US Congress has approved today the sweeping budget bill promoted by President Donald Trump and concerns taxation and spending cuts. The vote in favor of the bill by the House of Representatives, although the Republicans appeared divided, constitutes the first major legislative victory for Trump in his second term in the White House. Despite the initial disagreements, only two Republican MPs voted against the “nice and big” bill, as the president himself called it. The bill was approved by 218 votes against 214 against. The law is estimated to increase US debt by more than 3 trillion. dollars in the next decade. It also includes the extension of tax exemptions for a large number of households, which is, however, offset by the also large cuts in the Medicaid program, the health insurance coverage for millions of elderly and poor Americans. “Victory” was the first comment that Trump posted on his website after the vote.
