Apps cannot use more than 5GB of RAM on Apple iPad Pro on Apple M1 SoC

According to the specifications, the Apple iPad Pro tablet on the Apple M1 SoC looks like a serious system that can compete not only with “traditional” personal computers. Apple claims that CPU performance is 50% higher than the previous generation, and GPU performance is 40% higher. Buyers are offered configurations with 8 and 16 GB of RAM.

However, it may not be all that good. Anyway, the developer of the Artsutdio Pro app found that apps only had 5GB of RAM available, regardless of the amount of RAM. Attempting to use more memory is said to result in an error.

According to the developer, the available capacity is only 0.5 GB more than the older iPads with 6 GB of RAM.

Whether Apple is going to remedy the situation, and if so, when, is still unknown.
