The Russian government has approved a list of software that must be installed on smartphones and other devices from April 1, 2021.

The so-called “law against Apple”, which caused a great public outcry in 2019, was planned to come into force on July 1, 2020. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was decided to postpone the introduction first until January 1, 2021, and then until April 1.
In accordance with the adopted rules, all smartphones and tablets produced after this date and sold in Russia must have 16 Russian-developed applications installed.
