Aras should discuss filing of inquiry against Bolsonaro with MP, says political scientist

In an interview with CNN This Tuesday (2), the political scientist and professor of law at FGV Oscar Vilhena said that the Attorney General of the Republic, Augusto Aras, should “debate with the National Council of the Public Ministry (CNMP)” the request to archive the case. investigation against President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for alleged leakage of confidential data.

“We have seen an abstention from the Public Ministry (MP) in the fulfillment of its functions with regard to the current President of the Republic”, said Vilhena.

“In the face of a systemic omission by the MP, the Supreme Court has to take a more activist position eventually,” said the political scientist. Vilhena also stressed that the Court “cannot remain inert in the face of something that creates a dysfunctional system”.

In the document presented on Monday, the Deputy Attorney General of the Republic, Lindôra Araújo, criticized STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes by stating that he violated the accusatory procedural system, insofar as he decreed investigative measures and shared evidence ex officio, without prior notice.
