Archbishop Elpidophoros: Letter to Blinken to ensure the rights of Serbs in Kosovo

THE Archbishop Elpidophoros sent a letter to the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinkento take action and ensure both the rights and religious freedoms of Serbs in Kosovo.

In particular, it asks to take immediate action to facilitate and further ensure peace in the wounded region of Kosovo, as it characterizes it, as well as the human rights and religious freedoms of the Serbian community there.

He also points out the absolute need for the Patriarch of Serbia to be able to visit the region and exercise his functional duties for the Serb community.

The reason for the above letter was irregular situation observed in the previous weeks in Kosovoculminating in the ban imposed by the Authorities of Pristina, on December 26, on Serbian Patriarch Porphyrios to visit the Holy Patriarchal and Cross Monastery of Pekio, the historic first seat of the Serbian Patriarchate, and to be close to the Serbian Orthodox believers of the holy Christmas days.
