As expected, Arctic, known as a manufacturer of PC cooling systems, has introduced MX-5 thermal grease. According to the manufacturer, this thermal paste is highly effective and can guarantee reliable heat dissipation over a long period of time.
Like all Arctic Thermal Pastes, the MX-5 is free of metal particles. As a result, the paste is not a conductor, thereby eliminating the possibility of a short circuit when the thermal paste gets on the conductive tracks and connector pins.
The low viscosity makes it easy to apply an even coat of MX-5 over the entire surface of the processor wiring cover. And due to the contact pressure from the radiator side, the thermal paste film is extremely thin. Combined with high thermal conductivity, this results in very low thermal resistance, contributing to good cooling, on which the life and performance of the processor depend. However, the manufacturer does not provide the coefficient of thermal conductivity.
The MX-5 uses carbon microparticles as a filler, which fill in small surface defects, improving heat transfer from the microcircuit to the radiator. Thermal paste is suitable for use on all CPUs and GPUs. The MX-5 is also recommended for other high heat dissipation ICs and power semiconductors.
The paste is sold in packs from 2 to 50 g, with and without a spatula. Prices start at $ 5.89 per serving.
