Are there free events at SXSW? Find out how to watch

South by Southwest, better known as SXSW, will take place between March 8th and 16th and will offer a series of free events. The festival is considered one of the biggest technology, music, innovation and culture events in the world, also bringing attractions from different countries.

The fair is aimed at global professionals and offers a wide range of activities such as lecture sessions, varied presentations, film and TV product screenings, networking opportunities, technology competitions, awards ceremonies and much more.

This year's edition will offer free exhibitions, shows by various artists, special events and giveaways. The free attractions will be made available online on the SXSW YouTube profile and can also be seen on the festival website.

Rolling Stone's Future of Music

In its second year at the Austin festival, Rolling Stone magazine will present some of the main promises in the world of music. The line up includes names like Featherweight, Teezo Touchdown, Young Miko, Flo Milli, Uncle Waffles and Faye Webster.

The performances will take place between March 12th and 15th at ACL Live at The Moody Theater and can be accessed even by those who do not have an SXSW credential. To do this, simply book entry on the event website.

Community Concerts at Lady Bird Lake

SXSW presents a three-day series of free concerts at Lady Bird Lake. The shows are aimed at the whole family and open to the public. The event recommends that people take food for a picnic or consume products from local food trucks.

eMLS Cup presented by TikTok

24 eMLS Cup players, each representing a team from the North American Soccer League, will battle it out on ACL Live in search of the crown of the best player in North America.

The event is an official qualifier for EA Sports FC Pro. The two finalists of the eMLS Cup guarantee a place in the world championship and could become the best player in the world.

Eclipsing

Andrew Schneider and Annie Saunders teamed up with the Long Center, a performance arts space on the Lady Bird side, to create a site-specific soundwalk. The event is free and open to the public.

Eclipsing was built in partnership with astrophysicists and members of the local community. Sounds are activated by specific locations and time of day.
