Argentine Economy Minister Martín Guzmán resigned this Saturday (2). The politician spearheaded Argentina’s debt restructuring agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and creditors.
Guzmán published a letter on his social networks to President Alberto Fernández in which he details his decision to resign.
“With deep conviction and confidence in my vision of the path that Argentina should follow, I will continue to work and act for a more just, free and sovereign homeland”, said Guzmán.

Argentina faces the highest inflation in 30 years
In June, consumer inflation in Argentina jumped to 60.7% in May compared to the same month in 2021, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Census (Indec).
The result represents the highest value in 30 years, and an acceleration from the 58% annual increase registered in April. In the monthly comparison, the indicator rose 5.1% in May – in this case, a deceleration after the 6% increase in April.
