Aries, 20, born Arianna Del Giaccio, is finally back live with the biggest concert so far: at the Carroponte, just outside Milan, in front of more than 7 thousand of those guys. It was the first date of a long summer tour, which will take her around Italy after postponing the winter concerts several times due to the pandemic, and to which today is also added a new single released by surprise: Everything (with you). «I bring on stage what I am today, and what I have always been», he told us backstage, «Freedom, happiness. My idea of what love is, life, without labels, without judging others. I want my concerts to be a moment not only of lightheartedness but also of equality ».
How long have you waited for a stage like this?
“Much. Last year I always had a date at the Carroponte, but there were only one thousand and 500 people. You could just all sit, with the mask. Now singing live is something else, from 2019 to today everything has changed for me ».

Where did it start from and where did it arrive?
«In 2019 I was someone who went to big concerts and had a passion for music. I used to go to concerts both to have fun and to get ideas, saying that someday I would do the same if I ever went on stage. And then without knowing the middle ground, after two years of total emptiness due to the pandemic, I found myself on the other side. On that stage. Music is always the same emotion, but with a big difference: it has become a job ».
When did you realize it had become your job?
“There were so many moments, like being trivially recognized and then hearing others singing your songs. When you move the microphone towards the audience and you realize that everyone is singing your words ».

«It is a song born in a quite casual way. I went to visit the guys who had also produced other songs of mine, and who always work with Bomba discs, in the Empoli countryside, in their bunker. I went there to be together for a while, I didn’t feel the need to find a song for the summer, to release a hit. After Last night everyone was convinced that I wanted to reply, but it was never my intention. So between one round of the guitar and the other this piece came out. A fresh song, to be sung lightly, which tells how a love begins ».
How is love in the beginning?
“I wanted to tell about a situation that everyone lives, when maybe you find yourself a bit on the sidelines at a party, you hardly know anyone, then you notice this person and slowly begin to understand that you want to experience many things with that person”.
What’s the first thing she does when she’s in love?
«I try to stimulate the person next to me a lot. I organize a thousand trips, a thousand experiences, I try to do as much as possible, to get to know as much of the other as possible. And then inevitably you tend to show your best. Maybe in a way that is even a little exaggerated, as I say in the song, because I will probably never do everything with one person but in that moment you are so into that you believe it and say I want to do everything with you “.
Mirror is the title of his first album, released last February. What do you see today when you look in the mirror?
“I see a person that the same person three years ago would be proud of. I don’t know he is a person who is one hundred percent realized, a person who has made it. It’s too early to talk about it, but I see an Ariadne at 20 who is what Ariadne of 17 would have wanted ».
What is it like to be 20 today?
“I can’t complain about anything, I do the job of my dreams, with the team of my dreams, with my friends, I bought a house, I’m fine, I have my routine, but I have many friends in difficulty, that maybe I try also to help. Maybe they live in my hometown, in Anzio, they have suffered all the consequences of Covid, they still can’t attend university in person, they are paid in black, exploited. Everyone says that my generation complains too much, but in my opinion we do well to complain, there is great indifference towards us ».
What are the battles to be waged today?
“Three fundamental bills and referendums for Italy in 2022 have been abolished: the Zan Bill, the referendum on euthanasia and the one on legal cannabis. Three things that are the basis of a civilized country. Then there are many other things, but these are fundamental. And we must continue to talk about it, to take a stand ».
Can they also be carried on with music?
«I am very happy to be a transparent person. When I’m on stage, when I meet people on the street, when I play my music. And the thing that strikes me most are the boys and girls who tell me: “I was able to come out thanks to you”, “I was able to have a good time thanks to you”. “I accepted or accepted myself thanks to you”. Sometimes when I write some songs I think they are just for me, I don’t realize that maybe they are for another hundred thousand people. It is a beautiful, important thing ».
