Arizona wants to repeal the law that bans abortion in the US

Arizona joins the list of US states in favor of repealing the law that prohibits abortion as its House of Representatives decided in a vote yesterday. The 1864 law bans nearly all abortions and went into effect two weeks ago after a state Supreme Court ruling. Several moderate Republicans have decided to defy the party line and join with Democrats to push for a repeal of the law, which does not allow zero abortion from the moment of conception, with the sole exception of cases where the future mother's life is at risk. There are no exceptions even for cases where the pregnancy is due to rape or incest. The fact that this law was deemed applicable triggered a new war in the US, condemned in high tones by President Joe Biden, while it was also criticized, more modestly, by his Republican counterpart, Donald Trump.
