The singer Arlindinho son of the samba singer Arlindo Cruz paid tribute to his father, who turns 66 this Saturday (14), while participating in the Caldeirão com Mion program. Asked about the health of the musician, who suffered a hemorrhagic stroke in 2017, he replied that he is “stable”.
Arlindo Cruz’s birthday was celebrated at the end of the program, when Arlindinho took to the stage for a special performance. He sang one of the classic songs from his father’s repertoire, “What is love?”
“Dad, if God, if Oxalá allowed you to have life, may you have the strength to always fight. Your family loves you! Your son is here traveling the world representing your name. I love you! Congratulations! Much axé in your life, may Oxalá cover you with the mantle of protection,” said Arlindinho right after the performance.
Presenter Marcos Mion also spoke about the artist’s legacy.
“Mr. Arlindo, God bless you, and I would really like you to receive a round of applause here with everyone standing. All the good energy that exists on this stage, that exists in the Brazilian people, of gratitude, of honor, of recognition to you, Mr. Arlindo!”
