The Military Police of São Paulo arrested a 43-year-old man for having a weapon in his vehicle, close to the vicinity of the National Football League (NFL) game, which took place this Friday (6) in Itaquera, east of São Paulo, at the Neo Química Arena.
According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP), agents reinforced security around the stadium due to the large audience expected at the event.
During the patrol, police officers saw a man using his cell phone suspiciously.
After approaching him, the team decided to search the suspect’s car. In the vehicle, a .9 mm caliber weapon, loaded with 12 rounds, was found.
When questioned, the man reportedly told the police that he was providing security services to a man who was watching the game.
After checking the gun’s registration, he was taken to a police station and arrested for not having authorization to carry the revolver.
The case was registered as illegal possession of a weapon at the 24th Police District of Ponte Rasa.
