Yesterday, February 22, 2022, police surrounded the Apple Store in Amsterdam after there were reports of a gunman breaking into the store.
The source confirms that a man in a camouflage uniform with a weapon entered the Apple Store. While inside, he took several people hostage. After that, the police surrounded the building and ordered residents not to leave the house. The area around the store was also cordoned off. The attack happened yesterday around 17:40 local time and continued until 22:45.
During negotiations with the police, the man demanded 200 million euros in cryptocurrency. Amsterdam was told that at one point, dozens of people were able to run out of the Apple Store, and then the perpetrator rushed after one of the hostages, who tried to escape when the police gave him water using a robot. At that moment, the man was hit by an armored BMW X5 police car.
