Army will ask for information about civilian who allegedly participated in weapons theft

The Military Judiciary Police informs that it requested information from the Narcotics Suppression Police Station (DRE) of Rio de Janeiro regarding the arrest of Jesser Marques Fidelix, known as Jessé. He was one of four civilians who had been denounced by the Military Public Ministry in the investigation investigating the theft of 21 weapons from the São Paulo War Arsenal, last year.

Jesser was arrested by the Rio Civil Police during an action on Thursday night (11) in Santana do Parnaíba, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo. According to investigations, he and his brother-in-law, Márcio André Geber Boaventura Junior, were in a luxury vehicle leaving a high-end condominium when they were detained.

According to DRE investigations, the duo was directly linked to the illegal negotiation of weapons, including those belonging to the Army, which were allegedly offered to Comando Vermelho (CV), the largest criminal trafficking faction in the state of Rio.

After recovering eight of the weapons stolen from the Army, the Rio Civil Police had access to videos circulating on social media that would indicate that the suspects were negotiating restricted-use weapons to fuel the dispute between drug traffickers and militiamen in the west zone of the capital. fluminense.

This Friday (12), police officers carry out nine search and seizure warrants in Rio and São Paulo. The targets would be people linked to the two prisoners, who would be involved in this and other crimes, such as the reception and cloning of vehicles for the purpose of bartering weapons with large weapons suppliers.

Remember the case

The 21 machine guns disappeared from the arsenal of a barracks, in September last year, in Barueri, Greater São Paulo. Nineteen machine guns were recovered in Rio and São Paulo. Two are still wanted.

In February, the Army concluded its investigation into the theft. Four military personnel and four civilians, including Jesser, accused of the disappearance of the weapons were charged with theft, embezzlement, receiving and losing weapons. Two of the soldiers were arrested and two are free.

The Southeast Military Command told CNN which continues to work to recover the two remaining weapons, as well as to hold everyone involved accountable.
