«Artigianato e Palazzo» returns to Florence, a journey through traditional art crafts

Now in its XXVII edition, «Handicraft and Palace» it is an engaging, immersive and stimulating journey among the traditional art crafts reinterpreted in a contemporary key. Scheduled from 16 to 19 September al Corsini Garden in Florence, the event offers the public the opportunity to develop a relationship with the workers at work in their workshops rebuilt in the new areas of Palazzo Corsini.

The event, organized by the Giardino Corsini Association and Neri Torrigiani, will be full of many events, free outdoor workshops and news.

Among these, the wide selection of approx 80 artisan excellences to see and hear, and the “Mostra Principe” this year dedicated to Enrico Magnani Pescia. The art of handmade paper since 1481. Set up in the Ballroom, the exhibition exceptionally exhibits a selection of historical watermarked paper shapes, kept at Pescia Paper Museum, and some important archival documents including – to commemorate the two hundred years since his death – the loom of the paper that Magnani created in 1812 with the portraits of Napoleon Bonaparte and Maria Luisa of Austria for the celebrations of the wedding of the Emperor.

It’s still, “Kindness and Sustainability”, the five-year project of the designer of circular strategies Irene Ivoi, or rather a “guided reflection” aimed at guiding artisans to act according to the principles of a sustainable economy. The enlargement of the competition to Europe should be noted «Blogs&Crafts» in support of the new generations and their entry into the world of craftsmanship, e “Trip to Tuscany”, a journey through the productive excellences of the Region.

And then again “Family recipes 2021” which sees the presence of the directors of four Great Museums together with the chefs / teachers of the Cordon Bleu Florence School of Culinary Art who will talk about the relationship between art and gastronomy by analyzing the still lifes exhibited in their respective collections.

The exhibition will be open continuously from 10 to 19.30, at the Corsini Garden in Via della Scala, 115 – Via Il Prato, 58 Florence.
