Massachusetts artist reportedly bought human remains from the head of the morgue at Harvard Medical School and then showcased her outrageous purchases on Instagram. Boston-based Katrina McLean, who makes dolls and “mind-boggling and soul-shaking creations,” shared a photo of a “real human skull” she reportedly bought from the manager in her storefront on social media of Cedric Lodge Mortuary.
The February 2020 post featured a “killer clown” doll with a skull between its fingers, Mass Live reported.
“This doll has been sold and yes, this is a real human skull”, McLean shared on her store page, Kat’s Creepy Creations. “If you’re in the market for human bones, get in touch!”
McLean, 44, and Lodge, 55, were among the seven people charged on Wednesday in connection with an underground network that stole cadavers from the Medical School’s Anatomical Gift Program Harvard and to an Arkansas mortuary and crematory.
Federal prosecutors allege Lodge stole multiple remains — including the bodies of two dead infants — and sold them online with the help of his wife, Denise, 63, to McLean and three other men between 2018 and March 7.

Lodge is accused of grabbing body parts donated to the university, including heads, brains, skin and bones.
The morgue director also allowed McLean to visit the morgue and pick out body parts she hoped to use for her creepy artwork — including two faces she bought for $600, according to the indictment.
It is unclear how many stolen human parts McLean included in her artwork or posted on her social media account – which has since been deleted.
The artist regularly shared images of her dolls, which she sold at markets, fairs and in a shop in Salem.
Transform dolls into killer clowns, devils, zombies, ghosts and more. Several dolls were made to look bloody and have open wounds or split skin.
