Actress Ashley Park, who plays Mindy Chen in “Emily in Paris,” shared on social media that she is recovering after a septic shock that left her in critical condition.
She said she was on holiday in another country in December when she was diagnosed with tonsillitis.
“What started as tonsillitis evolved into critical septic shock, which infected and affected several of my organs. I am grateful that my health has improved despite what we were initially told,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
According to Park, she is still recovering, but “the worst is over.”
In the post, she also thanked the doctors and nurses and her boyfriend Paul Forman, who also appears in the series.
“You calmed my fears and held me through ambulances, three foreign hospitals, a week in the ICU, scary emergency rooms, countless tests and injections, unbearable pain and so much confusion, all while we were alone, on the other side of the world from those that we know. I love you Paul. More than I can say,” wrote the actress.
In the comments, Lilly Collins, the protagonist of “Emilly in Paris” said: “I can barely look at this without crying. I love you, sister, and I will be forever grateful that you are doing better and to Paul for his incredibly big heart and being there every step of the way. I can’t wait to hug you both.”
