Twenty years of wanderings in Asia, to get in touch with the most authentic life, history and culture of this continent. The photographer Massimo Saretta presents the Photographic project, Asiaa book, but also a travelling exhibition that will bring some of his shots collected during his travels in some Italian cities and then also abroad.
Photographer Certified By Leica, Massimo Saretta has travelled extensively in India, Cambodia, China, Vietnamin Bangladesh, Nepal, Japan And Thailand. But he left the tourist routes, to delve into the culture of each place he visited. He met people, shared moments of life with them, learned their customs and participated in sacred ceremonies, also coming into contact with their spiritual side. spiritual.
From these trips Massimo Saretta gave life to Asia, a 250-page book made of images. The the preface was entrusted to the art critic Vittorio Sgarbi. Through an inquisitive and curious gaze, the photographer takes us observers into those places of the East. But Asia it’s not just a book, it’s also a travelling exhibition that will arrive in Milan from 3 October to 7 January next year Romea few steps from Piazza di Spagna, at the Leica Store in via dei Due Macelli 57. During these months, 30 images representing the place will be exhibited in rotation, with each cycle dedicated to a different country.
Supported by the Ministry of Culture, Asia will also promote collateral events during the exhibition. Thus, they are already planned conferences in collaboration with universities of the Studies of Venice, Padua and Naples, but also classical dance performances and Asian music concerts. All events will have a single purpose: to promote knowledge of Asian cultures, civilizations and territories.
