60 years later, Aston Martin announced its official return to Formula 1. On March 21, 2021, the company unveiled the Vantage F1 Edition, the road-going version of the F1 Vantage safety car. The cost of this model starts at $ 16,200. The firm is already taking orders: the cars will be delivered by the end of summer 2021.
According to the automaker, the primary design goal for the Vantage F1 Edition was to improve lap times without compromising the vehicle and without installing aggressively optimized tires. And, although the company does not provide indicators of acceleration times, it is most likely that it coped with the task.
The Vantage F1 Edition is known to have received a number of aerodynamic improvements. So, a full-size front splitter, dive planes, an improved lower body and a huge rear wing provide an additional 200 kg of downforce at maximum speed. In addition, the car gets a radiator grille, carbon fiber accents, a four-tip exhaust system, exclusive 21-inch wheels and a matte dark gray stripe. The Vantage F1 Edition has only 3 color options: green, black and white. The car interior is trimmed in black leather and gray Alcantara.

However, the Vantage F1 Edition’s improvements go far beyond its looks. For example, the new AMG 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine develops power up to 527 horsepower, although the torque peak remains unchanged at 685 Nm. Aston Martin also made minor adjustments to the eight-speed automatic transmission, resulting in faster shifting and more aggressive downshifts when braking. The vehicle’s standard dynamic performance has not changed. The Vantage F1 Edition can accelerate to a hundred from a standstill in 3.6 seconds, and its top speed is 314 km / h.
