AstraZeneca vaccine: 97% effective in Indian mutation, new study supports

Coronavirus vaccines are 97% effective against coronavirus infection Indian mutation, says the researcher behind a study conducted on health professionals in India.

As the researcher stated, those who had been vaccinated with AstraZeneca enjoyed 97.38% protection

The risk of being treated for the mutation was just 0.06, according to a study by Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in New Delhi, according to the Daily Mail.

The study of 3,235 vaccinated health workers also revealed that 85 cases were reported that showed symptoms and only two needed hospitalization.

The same study did not record deaths or admissions to intensive care units among vaccinated patients.

Dr Anupam Sibal, the hospital’s medical director, told the Telegraph: “Our study showed that 97.38% of those vaccinated were protected from infection and the hospitalization rate was just 0.06%.”
