Taiwanese tech giant Asus unveiled the Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip smartphones on the global market last week. In India, the presentation was postponed due to the new wave of the coronavirus pandemic. Now it became known that in this country Zenfone 8 will be released under the name Asus 8Z.
The new flagship has been spotted on the Google site in the list of devices supported by Google Play. It has the model number ASUS _I006D, under which the smartphone has also been certified by the Indian regulator BIS. The Zenfone 8 Flip may not come out in India as they are not mentioned anywhere.
It’s worth noting that the Zenfone 6 smartphone launched in 2019 was introduced in India under the name Asus 6Z. This choice of name was due to a court order prohibiting the company from using the Zen or ZenFone names in India.

Recall that Zenfone 8 received a 5.9-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a polling rate of the touch layer of 240 Hz. A fingerprint sensor is built into the surface of the screen. The Asus Zenfone 8 is available in 6/128, 8/128, 8/256 and 16/256 GB LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 memory versions, respectively.
The main camera uses a 64MP Sony IMX686 image sensor, while the front camera uses the industry’s first 12MP Sony IMX663 sensor. The smartphone received two speakers with a Cirrus Logic CS35L45 sound amplifier, as well as three microphones with noise canceling technology. The smartphone complies with the IP68 degree of protection, it is equipped with a 4000 mAh battery and support for 30-watt charging.
