After several weeks of teasers and constant leaks of information, ASUS still officially introduced the ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate smartphones – these are analogues of the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro models, only based on Dimensity processors from MediaTek. The performance of the new smartphones is based on the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor, but the smartphone still has differences in terms of performance. The base version of the gadget has 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory, while the Ultimate version is sold with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for content. And apart from the cooling solution, both smartphones are almost identical.
For example, gadgets are equipped with fairly large OLED displays with a diagonal of 6.78 inches with support for a 10-bit color palette, a refresh rate of 165 Hz and HDR10+. Actually, this is the same display as in the original ROG Phone 6. Apparently, the manufacturer decided not to change anything in terms of the display, since it is already good, plus it reduces production costs. Even on the back of the gadgets, you can find a system of cameras, the main of which boasts a 50 MP image sensor with a sensor size of 1/1.56 inches with 1.0 micron pixels. And the f/1.9 aperture also looks more than decent – ​​especially considering that the 13 MP ultra-wide-angle camera has an f/2.2 aperture. There is also a 5MP macro camera and a 12MP selfie camera on the front.
The 6000 mAh battery with support for fast charging up to 65 W and Power Delivery technology completes the parade of interesting characteristics. The case design was also decided not to change dramatically, so there are the same patterns, absolutely the same backlight and a PMOLED display called ROG Vision in the case of 6D Ultimate. The cases of smartphones are so similar that even accessories from the ROG Phone 6 line are also suitable for new products, which will certainly make life easier for many. But the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate has an additional bonus that is definitely worth paying attention to.
We are talking about a special port on the back of the device, which the company called the AeroActive Portal. Thanks to this output, the user has the opportunity to get direct access to the cooling system of the smartphone. By opening the plastic cover, the user can connect an external cooler AeroActive Cooler 6 and then the smartphone will probably not overheat even during long gaming sessions. The solution is extremely interesting and unique – there are simply no such smartphones on the market.
